My plans for 2024
It’s been a awhile since I posted anything on blog or new designs. It took a break after Christmas for around 2 months and will resume regular uploads now. Plan for this year is to continue and upload averaging around 5 new designs a week, and also regularly post in blog section.
At the end of last year I started uploading SUV designs, with goal to to have all main US spec SUV vehicles done. My upcoming uploads will finalize Honda and Toyota SUVs, add K5, Tahoe and Suburban Chevy designs, ford Explorers and other models. Many of these designs are already done and I just need to finalize instructions and prepare source files.
After finishing my SUV collection I will continue with all US spec vans and pickup trucks. I’m already designing these designs side by side.
I believe that all SUV designs will be finished and uploaded in about 3 months. After that will come vans and pickups, and that shouldn’t take that long. So at some point during summer, or at the end of summer I should have all main US spec SUVs, Vans and Pickup trucks done.
My main collection will include vehicles from 70s till current era. I’m usually not that interested (and there is not that big market) for pre 70s vehicles, but in same cases I will add most iconic models of such vehicles too.
This current plan does not include heavy duty and commercial vehicles. No emergency vehicles. And no additions to movie/tv vehicle category. I will do them at some point later. Of course everything as always is still possible as private commission jobs. But I just want to have some structure and organization to my public uploads for now.
All this should take around half of the year. And for second half I plan to fill the gaps of existing designs and upload more random vehicles. I’m missing many classic muscle cars. Need to work on that. At some point I will add City scale Subaru category, with some nice designs already finished. I’m waiting or blue color color standard wheel arches (part 98282) for years already, that was my main reason to hold Subaru designs, since I can’t do the iconic blue color, but I’m not sure if we will get this part blue at all. So I will add my Subaru designs in other possible colors. I have around 50 AMC designs done too, waiting in line for upload. Not sure when this will happen. The backlog of already finished designs is HUGE!
I’m also aware that many of my early designs are outdated by todays standards, so it would be nice to update them too. Also everyone who browsed my entire collection noticed inconsistent thumbnails across my shop – in early years there are no defined render size and model angle, so all early renders look different sizes and angles. Now I know what works the best so all current renders look good and fit together well. So once I start to fix my older designs I will re-render all out of place renders too.
Other sizes like Creator/Expert size is still completely abandoned, there are no plans for new designs in these scales.
Commission jobs – no changes here, I’m ready for all type of private designs in 6 stud wide scale. That is my priority work! Remember my collection is much much larger than everything I can ever upload, so if you want a private project – ask, chances are that I already have needed designs.
Other news – I’m starting to learn 3d modelling and printing. Primary for scale models and model kits. But this will expand on LEGO too. I’m thinking about some custom parts like wheels/wheel covers and other accessories. But more on that later!
